2024 NCGA TOURNAMENTS

The NCGA holds tournaments each year for Regular and Associate Club members.
SSSGC selects members based on home tournament scores and sends teams/individuals to participate in these championships. The club pays the entry fee for the event. Our members have enjoyed their experiences at these competitions and have represented SSSGC very well. |

60th NCGA SENIOR NET CHAMPIONSHIP
FORMAT: Individual, Net Scoring (with 95% of course handicap)
ELIGIBILITY: Age 55+, No Limit on Handicap Index

SECTION QUALIFIER: May 22 - May 27
SECTION QUALIFIER SITES: Haggin Oaks, Del Monte, Baylands, Corica North, Hunter Ranch

SSSGC is sponsoring Terry Won & James Bounos to play in 2024 NCGA Senior Net Championships
Scores from the February 27 Home event @ Sunnyvale were used to select the 2 players
SSSGC will cover the registration fees for the Qualifying and the Championship rounds for both players

SECTION QUALIFIER ROUND (May 22 & 30)
SSSGC sponsored two members earning their way to play in the Section Qualifier round for this year's NCGA Senior Net Championship. This was the first year we entered into the NCGA Senior Net (instead of Net Amatuer), so our sponsored members were playing in an age appropriate tournament.
Terry Won played at Del Monte GC on May 22nd and shot a net 79, taking 21st place in a field of 45 players. This resulted in Terry being a 3rd alternate to go to the championship round at Poppy Hills.
James Bounos played at Crystal Springs on May 30th and shot a net 78, taking Tie-12 place in a field of 39 players. This resulted in James qualifying for the Poppy Hills championship rounds on June 24-25..

Our SSSGC sponsored member, James Bounos, played in the NCGA Senior Net Championship on June 24 & 25 at Poppy Hills in Monterey.
James played two rounds at Poppy Hills, shooting an net score of 141. His first round was 70 and second round was 71 for a 1 under par total for the two round tournament. This resulted in a tie for 7th place out of 32 players in the Yosemite flight. IMPRESSIVE!!!
